How to Start "Thrown to the Dogs" in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
One of the first steps to unlocking your pre-order rewards is completing a special quest called Thrown to the Dogs. This becomes available once you take control of Naoe and gain access to the open world.
To begin, simply follow the quest marker on your map until you locate a loyal canine companion. After meeting the dog, you’ll be led to a nearby farm where you must search for a hidden key underneath a house. Once retrieved, return to the grave site where you first encountered the dog.
If you’re struggling to find the key, look for a small crawlspace beneath the structure. Naoe can go prone and crawl through to collect it. It’s not always easy to spot, so keep an eye out!
Once the key is returned and the sequence is complete, you’ll officially become friends with the dog—and unlock your pre-order rewards.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Preorder Bonuses
Upon completion of the Thrown to the Dogs quest, you’ll receive the following preorder rewards:
- Tsuki-maru as a pet at the Hideout
- 1,000 XP
While Tsuki-maru doesn’t offer any functional gameplay benefits, it’s a charming addition to your Hideout. The 1,000 XP boost, however, is especially valuable early on, granting you a few extra Mastery Points to invest in skills—though you'll still need to level up your Knowledge to unlock new abilities.
