Silver Surfer Illuminated in Fantastic Four Trailer Amid Galactus Threat

Author : Liam May 12,2025

The latest trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps offers an exciting glimpse into the new Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) world and showcases the significant role played by Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer. This two-and-a-half-minute clip delves into the lives of Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), the Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), who have transformed their universe into a radiant utopia. In this setting, Marvel’s First Family is revered as a (growing) team of heroes, serving as role models for both children and adults. However, their utopia faces a dire threat as Garner’s Silver Surfer arrives to warn of the impending arrival of Galactus.

PlayThe trailer is packed with action, showcasing Ben Grimm smashing through pillars and providing a clearer view of Reed Richards’ stretchy abilities. These scenes offer fresh interpretations of the classic powers that the Fantastic Four have been known for over the years, setting the stage for their collaborative efforts come July.

Julia Garner’s portrayal of Silver Surfer stands out, despite her limited dialogue. Her warning that this alternate Earth is now “marked for death” is delivered with a commanding presence. Her character appears especially formidable, effortlessly fending off the Human Torch and navigating through explosions. While the trailer teases the arrival of Galactus, it keeps his full, updated MCU appearance under wraps, though we catch a glimpse of him stomping through the city.
