According to a report from Variety, the critically acclaimed game Split Fiction is set to be adapted into a film. The news comes as multiple top Hollywood studios have been vying for the movie rights. Story Kitchen, a media company renowned for its expertise in adapting games and other non-traditional properties into films and TV shows, is currently assembling the package for the project. This includes securing the writers, director, and cast. Notably, the same team at Story Kitchen previously handled the upcoming film adaptation of Hazelight Studios' other hit game, It Takes Two. Story Kitchen, formerly known as dj2 Entertainment, has a track record that includes the successful Sonic the Hedgehog films and the Netflix series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. At this point, no further details about the Split Fiction film adaptation have been disclosed.
Adding to the excitement around Split Fiction, the game achieved remarkable sales, with over two million copies sold within its first week of release. IGN's review praised Split Fiction as an unmissable co-op adventure, highlighting its ability to remain fabulously fresh for its full, 14-hour duration.
In related news, Hazelight Studios' director, Josef Fares, recently announced that the studio is already hard at work on their next game project.
