"Star Wars, Mandalorian Join Monopoly Go"

Author : Connor May 27,2025

The mobile gaming phenomenon, Monopoly Go, is set to elevate its gameplay with a thrilling collaboration with the Star Wars universe. Announced at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, this exciting partnership will run from May 1 to July 2, drawing inspiration from iconic events in the Skywalker Saga and The Mandalorian. This fusion promises to inject a dose of science fiction into the classic real estate and dice-rolling mechanics of Monopoly Go.

During the Star Wars season, players will encounter beloved Star Wars characters transformed into adorable cartoon versions. The update introduces a Star Wars Go sticker album for players to complete, adding a new layer of engagement. Fans can also look forward to podracing events in the Mos Espa Grand Arena, along with collectible in-game items such as tokens, shields, and emojis. Imagine the unique sight of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn mingling with Monopoly's iconic mascot, Mr. Monopoly, also known as Rich Uncle Pennybags.

This isn't the first time Monopoly Go has embraced a crossover event. Last September, the game featured a collaboration with Marvel, introducing characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and members of the Avengers into its world.

In other news, the game's publisher, Scopely, has recently expanded its portfolio by acquiring the teams behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now from Niantic. This move underscores Scopely's commitment to enhancing its mobile gaming offerings.

According to a report from our sister site GamesIndustry.biz, Monopoly Go has emerged as the top game for consumer spending in 2024, amassing an impressive $2.47 billion. This financial success, coupled with 150 million downloads and 10 million daily users, highlights the game's significant impact and popularity in the mobile gaming market.
