Konami's latest addition to the Suikoden series, Suikoden STAR LEAP, promises to bring the rich experience of console gaming to mobile devices. In an insightful interview with Famitsu on March 4, 2025, the developers of Star Leap shared their vision for the game.

Star Leap Producer Shinya Fujimatsu elaborated on the decision to develop the game for mobile platforms, stating, "Our goal was to make Suikoden accessible to as many people as possible. Mobile devices are the most convenient for gamers, and we wanted to ensure that Star Leap truly embodies the spirit of Suikoden. We're taking on the challenge of creating a mainline title that retains the essence of the series."

The development team is committed to delivering a game that combines the high-quality visuals, sounds, and storytelling of console games with the ease of access provided by mobile platforms.

Suikoden STAR LEAP is set to be a unique entry in the series, serving as both a sequel and prequel. The game's narrative will span different eras, starting two years before the events of Suikoden 1 and extending through various periods, connecting to the storylines of Suikoden 1 through 5.

Fujimatsu expressed enthusiasm about the game's quality, saying, "Even newcomers to the series will find Star Leap easy to dive into, thanks to its mobile-friendly design and accessible storytelling. We hope it will serve as an excellent entry point into the world of 'Suikoden Genso'."

Meng Shan echoed this sentiment, adding, "Suikoden is a renowned RPG series in Japan, and we've meticulously crafted every aspect of Star Leap—from the story and graphics to the battle and training systems—to honor its legacy. We eagerly await your feedback upon the game's release."

Suikoden STAR LEAP was unveiled during the Suikoden Live broadcast on March 4, 2025, alongside other exciting projects and events related to the series. The game is in development for iOS and Android, though no official release date has been announced yet.
