Swing Into ‘Marvel Snap’ With The Amazing Spider-Season

Author : Allison Jan 17,2025

TouchArcade Rating: Following August's Young Avengers season, Marvel Snap (Free) swings into a new season brimming with Spidey-themed excitement! This season introduces thrilling new cards and locations, centered around the Amazing Spider-Man. While Bonesaw might be absent this time, the additions are sure to spice things up!

This season introduces "Activate," a game-changing card ability. Unlike "On Reveal," Activate abilities can be triggered at any point during your turn, offering strategic advantages and bypassing certain counter-strategies. The Season Pass card fully utilizes this new mechanic. For a detailed overview from Second Dinner, check out the video below:

Symbiote Spider-Man, the Season Pass card, is a 4-cost, 6-power powerhouse. Its Activate ability absorbs the lowest-cost card at its location and replicates its text, even triggering On Reveal effects again. Pairing him with Galactus promises chaotic fun, although his power might warrant a nerf before the season ends.

Let's delve into the other additions. Silver Sable (1-cost, 1-power) boasts an On Reveal ability that siphons two power from the top card of your opponent's deck. Madame Web, the star of the recent film, has an Ongoing ability to reposition one card at her location per turn.

Arana (1-cost, 1-power) is another Activate card. Activating her shifts the next played card to the right and boosts its power by +2. Expect her to become a staple in move-based decks. Finally, Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly) is a 4-cost, 5-power card with an Activate ability that spawns an identical clone at another location.

The season also features two new locations. The Brooklyn Bridge, a classic Spider-Man locale, prevents card placement for two consecutive turns, demanding creative strategies. Otto's Lab operates like Otto himself, pulling a card from the opponent's hand to the location when a card is played there.

This season's additions are intriguing, with the "Activate" mechanic promising exciting gameplay possibilities. Our September deck guide will be available soon to help navigate these new challenges. Share your thoughts on the new season, your favorite cards, and whether you'll be grabbing the Season Pass in the comments below!
