RGG Studio Says Their Next Title Will Be ‘Surprising’Another Surprising Shift?

During the 3rd day of this year’s Anime Expo, which took place in Los Angeles, California, Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio held the Essence of Fandom: Like a Dragon & Yakuza Experience. The event was hosted by Linda “VampyBitMe” Le; joining her were Like a Dragon Chief Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto and Voice Actor of Ichiban Kasuga, Kazuhiro Nakaya.

During the event, attending fans were teased details of their upcoming game by the studio representatives, saying, "We can’t tell you what kind of game it is, but I will tell you, you’ll be surprised." This was documented by user @TheYakuzaGuy in his tweet, where he also clarified that the studio said it will be a new entry to the Like a Dragon series.

It was already surprising enough that the seventh mainline game in the series became a full-on JRPG game instead of the usual action beat ‘em up, so a new "surprising" entry could mean anything from a rhythm game focusing on the game’s popular karaoke mini game, a spin-off featuring the other characters of the series, and maybe even a remake or a sequel to their older spin-offs like Yakuza: Dead Souls or the Japan-exclusive Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan.
