Witcher 4 Creators Support Blood of Dawnwalker Authors, No Competition with Rebel Wolves

Gamers have started to take notice of The Blood of Dawnwalker, drawing inevitable comparisons to The Witcher 4. This buzz is largely due to the project being spearheaded by former CD Projekt Red (CDPR) staff members, which is evident in the similarities in ambiance and style between the two games.

Following the release of the first trailer for The Blood of Dawnwalker, fans have been actively debating which game might prove more successful. However, both the developers and their former colleagues at CDPR believe these comparisons are unwarranted. A user on X encapsulated this sentiment perfectly, stating:

"Dawnwalker looks amazing, just like The Witcher 4. Both works can coexist. One game doesn't mean the other is dead. It's not a competition. Let's show respect."

Patrick K. Mills, who contributed to the missions in The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, added his voice to the discussion, emphasizing the absence of rivalry between the teams:

"Anyone who tries to compare these games is doing the devil's work. The teams have a long history together; we hang out, play games together, and our group chats are full of praise for each team. There's nothing but love here. The culture war will remain a culture war, but these games share a common origin and common values."

Philippe Weber, the narrative director for The Witcher 4, also highlighted the shared visual elements in the trailers of the two games:

"Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz and I were joking today about how the eyes in the dark in our two trailers were used as references to the TV series Midnight Mass to sell the idea early on. Many of the creators of the two games are friends, and we love seeing our friends succeed!"

Rebel Wolves, the team behind The Blood of Dawnwalker, has set an ambitious goal—to create a new series of games that can stand toe-to-toe with established franchises. Based on the first trailer, it appears that The Blood of Dawnwalker has the potential to be just as impressive as CDPR's renowned titles.
