Xbox Event Date Officially Revealed

Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has revealed the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This will be the third annual event, kicking off the year's Xbox game announcements. The first Developer Direct was held in January 2023, followed by a second in January 2024, establishing a clear annual pattern.

The 2025 showcase is scheduled for 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. This announcement follows earlier rumors suggesting a January 9th reveal.

Confirmed Games for Xbox Developer Direct 2025:

  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France). Targeting a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
  • Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, initially announced in June 2024. A demo was playable at QuakeCon 2024, and a mid-2025 launch is rumored.
  • South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game developed by Compulsion Games (Canada), the creators of Contrast and We Happy Few. Announced in June 2023, a release date is still pending.

While these three titles are confirmed, previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and featured multiple games. The 2024 event showcased Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Expect the 2025 event to hold similar surprises.
