"The Thing and Human Torch Set for February Release in Marvel Rivals"

Author : Stella May 07,2025

The highly anticipated expansion of Marvel Rivals will see The Fantastic Four team complete with the introduction of The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters on February 21, 2025. This exciting addition was announced alongside details about the second half of Season 1's update, although the specifics of the Season 1.5 update remain under wraps. However, a Dev Talk blog post on the Marvel Rivals website hinted at "major balance adjustments" to keep players on their toes.

While we eagerly await the reveal of The Thing and Human Torch's new moves and abilities, fans can reflect on the impact of the initial post-launch heroes, Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman, introduced last month. Reed Richards brought his elastic and goofy combat style to the game, and Sue Storm introduced new invisibility mechanics, both shifting the multiplayer meta in fresh and exciting ways. With the arrival of Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm, we can expect similar game-changing dynamics, and hopefully, NetEase will share some gameplay footage soon.

The upcoming Marvel Rivals Season 1 update will also feature a rank reset for Ranked players. On February 21, players will experience a four-division drop in their Rank. For example, a Diamond I player on February 20 will find themselves in Platinum II the next day. NetEase has outlined future plans, stating that new seasons will involve a six-division drop, while half-season updates will see a four-division drop. As the game evolves, NetEase promises to "tune this as necessary" to meet players' preferences.

It's not all about the challenges, though. Competitive Marvel fans in the Gold rank and above have something to look forward to with the launch of Season 1's second half. New costume rewards will be available, and NetEase will introduce new Crests of Honor to celebrate achievements at the ranks of Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All (reserved for the top 500 players).

### Marvel Rivals Tier List: Best Heroes

The Marvel Rivals community has been eagerly awaiting more details on the game's post-launch strategy, and the addition of The Fantastic Four is just the beginning. Creative director Guangyun Chen has promised to release a new playable character every half-season, ensuring a steady stream of fresh Marvel faces every six weeks. This commitment keeps the excitement alive with each seasonal update. While there's evidence suggesting that the vampire-hunting Daywalker Blade might be next, the future remains shrouded in mystery amidst rumors and leaks that have sparked debates among players.

As you await the mid-season update that will undoubtedly shake up the current meta, you can delve into our current Marvel Rivals Season 1 tier list to find out the best characters. This will help you stay ahead of the game. Additionally, exploring how the original Season 1 patch transformed the meta and understanding the community's reaction to Marvel Rivals' alleged bot issue can provide valuable insights into the game's evolving landscape.
