Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Dynasty Warriors: Origins features three campaigns, each with a hidden true ending. To unlock the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction, follow these steps:
First, complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks the ability to replay stages. You'll notice a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban," indicating an alternate path. This battle typically involves escorting Liu Bei to safety while Zhang Fei holds off Cao Cao's forces.
To unlock the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao instead of ensuring Liu Bei's escape. This is challenging, as you'll be facing Cao Cao's army largely solo. Liu Bei's defeat before Cao Cao's will necessitate a mission restart.
To increase your chances of success:
- Reduce the difficulty: Switch to "Historian" mode to make the battle more manageable.
- Choose your partner wisely: Select Zhang Fei; his starting position offers a tactical advantage.
Prepare for Cao Cao's Grand Tactics – one requiring two officer eliminations, the other 250 soldier defeats. A weapon like twin pikes is recommended for rapid soldier clearing. Once Cao Cao's army is routed, defeating him should be relatively straightforward. A few additional missions follow before the true Shu ending is revealed.
