Exciting news for fans of the time-twisting RPG Reverse: 1999! Mark your calendars for April 18th, as a new livestream is set to unveil the upcoming content for version 2.5, titled 'Showdown in Chinatown.' This stream promises not only a first look at the new update but also additional details about the game's upcoming 1.5th anniversary celebrations.
The livestream will be hosted in-character by Captain Regulus and the newly introduced Officer Liang Yue, both appearing in charming chibi form. Viewers can look forward to engaging giveaways, including redeemable codes, and a thrilling competition where participants have a chance to win a Nintendo Switch 2.
While much of version 2.5 has already been showcased to Chinese players, international fans are eager to see how these elements will be adapted. 'Showdown in Chinatown' is set to pay homage to Hong Kong martial arts cinema, featuring a dramatic crime thriller narrative centered around the pursuit of an arcanist vigilante.
Character-wise, Officer Liang Yue will showcase her martial arts prowess as she infiltrates the movie set of another new character, Noire. Noire, a wheelchair-bound and perfectionist director, uses her unique ability to puppet her ideal actors to combat foes. Additionally, Loggerhead, a character with a camera for a head, is slated to appear, adding a quirky twist to the narrative.
While we await the livestream to see what content will be available for international players, fans can anticipate plenty of nods to iconic figures like the Shaw Brothers and John Woo in version 2.5.
