Bouncing Blades Kill Campers Outside Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Map

Author : Mila Jun 12,2025

In the fiercely competitive world of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer, players constantly showcase their most impressive final kills online. Among the countless clips uploaded daily, only a select few truly stand out—this one definitely does.

The introduction of Ricochet Blades—a unique ammo type for the D1.3 Sector secondary weapon—arrived alongside last month’s much-discussed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event. Almost immediately, these unpredictable projectiles became a hot topic within the community due to their wild bounce mechanics and chaotic flight paths.

Player kev99gh recently shared a stunning kill captured during a round of Hardcore Search and Destroy on the Lowtown map. Using a Ricochet Blade—often referred to as a “pizza” by fans—they executed an incredible shot that ricocheted off multiple surfaces, flew outside the map boundaries, and then looped back in through a window for a one-hit takedown on an enemy who had just peeked out.

This extraordinary moment may very well be the longest Ricochet Blade kill recorded so far, especially considering it left the map entirely before returning for the finish. The footage shows kev99gh lining up the shot from behind cover, launching the projectile into open space. Then, switching to the overhead map view, they track the blade as it glides along the edge of the map before curving back toward its target.

While it might seem like pure luck, such advanced blade shots are often the result of deliberate practice. As pointed out by Redditor SpawnTubing—who shared kev99gh’s clip—players actively look for common camping spots where ricochet opportunities arise. And as many commenters noted, the timing of the enemy peeking just as the “pizza” re-entered was nothing short of perfect—a textbook Black Ops 6 ambush.

Ricochet Blades have undeniably sparked a new bounce-kill meta across the game’s multiplayer maps. While not every kill is as spectacular, many players continue to upload footage of multi-bounce trick shots, including the example below:

Of course, not everyone is thrilled about the rise of bouncing blades. Some players find them frustrating and difficult to counter. Their annoyance likely grew after developer Treyarch issued a patch update that improved the physics and speed of Ricochet Blades while also ensuring they deal one-hit kills. Below are the relevant patch notes:

D1.3 Sector
Our initial design for the D1.3 Sector Ricochet Blades revolved around quickly launching many high-speed blades, meant to perform best blind firing into enclosed spaces. We have been following your feedback and agree that, in practice, the use cases for this ammo type are too low. The Ricochet Blades will now do 100 damage to enable one-hit kills, and to compensate we are lowering the fire rate and projectile speed. We think the popularity of this ammo type will see some new interest with these changes and look forward to seeing more of your cross-map killcams in MP.

Ricochet Blades

  • Increased damage from 75 to 100
  • Decreased rate of fire
  • Decreased projectile velocity
  • Improved bouncing speeds and physics

With these adjustments, it's clear that Ricochet Blades aren't going away anytime soon. In fact, their dominance is expected to grow even further with the arrival of Season 3 and the highly anticipated return of Verdansk to Warzone. Whether you love them or hate them, one thing is certain: the era of the bouncing blade has officially begun.
