Cyberpunk 2 Confirms No Third-Person View, Introduces \"Most Realistic\" Crowd System

Author : Peyton Feb 27,2025

CD Projekt RED is accelerating development on the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, as revealed by recent job postings offering insights into the game's features. A key detail? The sequel will remain a first-person experience, foregoing a third-person perspective, potentially disappointing fans hoping for a different viewpoint.

A Senior Gameplay Animator is sought to craft detailed first-person animations, particularly focusing on weapon interactions and gameplay mechanics. The absence of any mention of third-person animation strongly suggests this perspective is not being implemented.

An Encounter Designer position highlights a revolutionary "most realistic crowd system ever seen in games." This system will dynamically react to player actions, creating immersive environments with natural NPC interactions. The role involves designing complex scenarios with multiple solutions, utilizing NPC behavior, interactive objects, loot placement, and environmental storytelling.

Furthermore, job postings confirm that multiplayer functionality is under consideration, albeit in early development stages.

Cyberpunk 2, codenamed Project Orion, utilizes Unreal Engine 5, promising state-of-the-art visuals and technology. Previously, a senior quest designer from CD Projekt RED disclosed their personal involvement in voicing intimate scenes within Cyberpunk 2077. Interestingly, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 fans have spotted a character seemingly inspired by Johnny Silverhand.
