This isn't Square Enix's first foray into mobile Final Fantasy games. Previous attempts, however, have yielded mixed results. While Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis received a lukewarm reception, Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia ultimately shut down. Therefore, adapting the complex FFXIV MMORPG for mobile presents a significant challenge.

It's crucial to remember that this information remains unconfirmed. Square Enix hasn't officially commented on the matter. However, past collaborations between Square Enix and Tencent lend some credence to the rumor.
