Framed for Murder at Girls' Boarding School: Was It You?

Author : Aria Mar 27,2025

If you've ever wondered why anyone would send their child to boarding school, consider the mix of peer pressure, loneliness, and an air of snobbery. And if you thought that was bad, imagine a place where someone might get pushed out of a window! That's the dramatic setting of Expelled!, the latest release from inkle, the creators of the acclaimed game Overboard.

In Expelled!, you step into the shoes of Verity Amersham, a seemingly well-behaved student at Miss Mulligatawney's School for Promising Girls in 1922. When a prefect is mysteriously pushed out of a window, Verity finds herself accused of attempted murder. Your mission? Clear your name within a single school day, with characters moving and acting independently, creating a race against time.

You can approach your exoneration in various ways: you might hunt down the real culprit to clear your name cleanly, frame someone else to shift the blame, or take a more aggressive route by using your hockey stick to knock out anyone who stands in your way. The choice is yours!

An Inkleing

Recommending Expelled! is a no-brainer, especially given the glowing review by Catherine Dellosa. Inkle previously enchanted players with their masterpiece, 80 Days, and struck gold again with the murder mystery visual novel Overboard!. While Expelled! features a less sinister protagonist than Overboard, you can still choose to play it straight, pin the crime on someone else, or embrace your inner teenage Punisher. And remember, Verity may not be as innocent as she initially appears.

Curious about how it all unfolds? You'll have to play Expelled! to find out.
