Guide to Earning the A Prize Held High Trophy in Monster Hunter Wilds

Author : Lucy May 19,2025

In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, there's a world of activities beyond just hunting down colossal beasts. If you're aiming to unlock the A Prize Held High trophy or achievement, here’s a detailed guide to help you achieve this goal.

How To Unlock the A Prize Held High Trophy/Achievement in Monster Hunter Wilds

Contrary to what the trophy's description might suggest, your target isn't a dragon or wyvern but the elusive Curioshell Crab. This creature can be captured using the Capture Net, a vital tool in your arsenal.

Finding the Curioshell Crab can be a bit of a challenge due to its widespread presence across the game's maps. However, the most reliable spot we've found is in the Scarlet Forest. Start your journey from the base camp and head towards Area 6: Flowering Rocks pop-up camp, which lies between Areas 2 and 6. If you haven't discovered this location yet, it's worth the search.

Upon reaching this area, focus your attention on a nearby puddle of water, a prime spawning spot for the Curioshell Crab. If you struggle to spot it, Alma can assist. She'll mention if a creature nearby is holding something, signaling the presence of a Curioshell Crab.

To capture this swift creature, equip your Capture Net, align the reticle until it turns orange, and then fire. A successful capture will reward you with not just the Curioshell Crab, but also an Ancient Wyvern Coin.

Given the Curioshell Crab's rapid movements, anticipate its path and aim ahead to ensure a successful catch. Other hotspots for finding this creature include Area 13 of the Windward Plains and Area 8 of the Scarlet Forest. Keep in mind, it may appear in other areas as well, but these are the most reliable spots we've tested.

That's all you need to know to secure the A Prize Held High trophy or achievement in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and guides, don't forget to check out The Escapist.
