Guide: Unlocking All Dark Instruments in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

Author : Christian May 15,2025

In *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*, Goro Majima's "Sea Dog" pirate fighting style comes equipped with four unique finishers that are perfect for taking on large crowds. However, unlocking all the dark instruments needed to master this style is a challenging journey.

How to Obtain the Dark God’s Violin in Pirate Yakuza

The Dark God’s Violin is the first Dark Instrument you'll unlock in *Pirate Yakuza*, and it's essential for progressing through the main story. You'll encounter this mission during Chapter 2, where your crew member Jason will guide you to meet an old friend. During this meeting, you and your crew will confront the Devil Flag pirates, who have taken the Pharoh Stone after killing Jason's friend.

After the encounter, you'll meet Misaki, the orphaned daughter of Jason's friend, who joins your crew to seek revenge. This sets the stage for a side story that leads you to the islands east of Madlantis. Here, you'll face an exceptionally strong enemy fleet of Devil Flag pirates. Focus your attacks on the boss ship to advance to the next stage, where you'll board and defeat the pirates to obtain the Dark God’s Violin. You'll then get to test this new finishing move in a 100-enemy brawl on the island.

After the brawl, a cutscene will introduce you to the fleet's captains: Yakuza, Ronin, Shinobi, and Zeus. They'll challenge you, officially starting the side quest to collect all the Dark Instruments. While not necessary for the main story, defeating these captains is crucial for unlocking all the instruments.

How to Obtain the Dark God’s Ocarina in Pirate Yakuza

After defeating the first boss ship and engaging in the initial 100-enemy brawl, you'll notice special Devil Flag markers across the waters in *Pirate Yakuza*. Defeating these ships will earn you Devil Flags, and you'll need 70 of them to unlock the next Dark Instrument. Be proactive in engaging these ships and plundering their treasure islands to quickly amass the required flags.

Once you have 70 flags, Atali Island will unlock on your map. Prepare a strong landing party as you'll face multiple waves of attackers before reaching the treasure chest containing the Dark God’s Ocarina. You'll need to defeat Devil Flag Captain Yakuza to claim it, after which the Ocarina will be yours.

How to Obtain the Dark God’s Guitar in Pirate Yakuza

Following your victory over Captain Yakuza, a series of cutscenes and new objectives will lead you to an island where the Pharoh Stone is supposedly hidden. However, this turns out to be a trap, leading to another 100-enemy fight where you can test your newly acquired Dark God’s Ocarina.

After this, you'll learn that Zeus is headed to Flame Island. To progress, you'll need a three-star ranking and 130 Devil Flags. Keep engaging with Devil Flag Pirates to collect these flags. Once you have enough, sail to the Flame Entrance Lighthouse to trigger a cutscene, leading to four treasure islands: Sunset, Heatwave, Welldone, and Scorching Heat. Remember, you can't use health items on these islands, so ensure Goro and his landing crew are well-upgraded.

After conquering these islands, you'll face another fleet battle where you should focus on the boss ship. After defeating the first mate and boarding the ship, you and your chosen crew (Jason, Masaru, Minami, and Saejima) will land on Flame Island. After several smaller battles, you'll face Captain Ronin. Use your Dark Instruments to defeat him and his crew, gaining access to the treasure chest with the Dark God of the Earth’s Guitar.

How to Obtain the Dark God’s Saxophone in Pirate Yakuza

The Saxophone Dark Instrument in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

The Dark God’s Saxophone is the final Dark Instrument in *Pirate Yakuza*, requiring a Pirate Rank Four to unlock. Achieve this rank by completing main story missions, recruiting crew members, and engaging in mini-games and side quests. You'll also need 220 Devil Flags.

Sail to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse to trigger a cutscene and engage in a battle with the Devil Flag’s Fleet, blocking the entrance to Frost Island. You'll have four other islands to plunder: Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, and Glacial, to collect more Devil Flags.

Defeat Captain Shinobi’s First Fleet before landing on Frost Island. After a series of battles leading to a cave and a recovery area, you'll face Captain Shinobi in the final boss fight. After defeating him, a cutscene will show Zeus taking Misaki hostage, and you'll obtain the Dark God’s Saxophone.

The last boss fight against Zeus to rescue Misaki is challenging and requires a nearly fully upgraded Goromaru. However, if your goal is solely to collect all four Dark Instruments, you don't need to complete this final battle.

And that's how you obtain all Dark Instruments in *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*.

*Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii* is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
