Having your own house at the tender age of 18 might seem like a dream come true—think independence and your own space, all before you can legally drink in the US! But in the case of Your House, you might find yourself wishing for a different reality. This seemingly cozy home harbors a dark side that you'll soon discover.
In this gripping text-based adventure, you step into the shoes of Debbie, a young woman who, on her 18th birthday, faces expulsion from school, betrayal by her best friend, and a harrowing accident with a car. With nothing left to lose, Debbie receives a mysterious key and a letter directing her to the titular house. Driven by curiosity and desperation, she sets out to unravel the enigma surrounding this mysterious abode.
As you guide Debbie through the house, you'll encounter dozens of escape room-style puzzles. But beware—a mysterious figure lurks on the sidewalk, watching your every move. You'll need to harness all your ingenuity to ensure Debbie's survival.
Admittedly, I might be painting Your House as more sinister than it truly is. Yet, there's an undeniable spooky undercurrent to this puzzle game as you delve into the various nooks and crannies of your new home. With plenty of visuals to complement the text-based narration, it's definitely worth exploring.
Be prepared for some intense tapping, though. While Catherine praised Your House in her review, she noted that the game could be a bit demanding in this aspect. However, if you're willing to take your time and scrutinize each screen carefully, the slow-burn pace might just be rewarding.
