Moon Knight to Return, Not in Season 2: Marvel Exec

Author : Ava May 14,2025

Marvel fans eager to see more of Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight in the MCU will have to adjust their expectations. According to Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, while there are plans for the character's future, a second season of the Disney+ show is not in the cards. This shift comes as Marvel Television has changed its strategy since the release of Moon Knight in 2022.

Originally, Marvel aimed to introduce characters through their own TV series, setting the stage for future tie-ins with other projects. This approach was evident with Ms. Marvel, which introduced Kamala Khan before her appearance in The Marvels. However, the division has now pivoted to a more traditional TV model, focusing on annual releases.

Winderbaum explained, "So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future. And moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road."

While Isaac reprised his role as Moon Knight in the animated series Marvel’s What If…? during its third and final season, there's no confirmation yet on his return in live-action.

The MCU's upcoming TV show lineup includes Daredevil: Born Again in March, Ironheart in June, Eyes of Wakanda in August, Marvel Zombies in October, and Wonder Man in December. Meanwhile, Marvel Television has reportedly paused development on Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. However, Winderbaum hinted at the possibility of bringing back the street-level heroes from Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, collectively known as The Defenders.
