Morikomori Life: New Rural Sim with Ghibli-Style Art

The charming rural farm life simulator, Morikomori Life, is now officially available on Android and iOS, but exclusively in Japan. This time, it's being published by Realfun Studio. Originally released in China by Level Infinite under Tencent Games, the Chinese version was unfortunately taken down approximately a year ago.

The Rural Farm Life Sim Is Back

One of the standout features of Morikomori Life is its stunning visuals. The developers have masterfully captured the cozy essence of rural life through anime-inspired, specifically Ghibli-style art. This isn't the generic AI-generated art you might be familiar with; these scenes could easily be mistaken for stills from a Studio Ghibli animated film.

In the game, you take on the role of Kaon, a young Japanese girl who receives a mysterious letter from her grandmother. The letter prompts Kaon to visit her in the village of Komori, where she spent her childhood. As you guide Kaon, you'll rediscover the joys of a peaceful, slow-paced life. The game's use of 3D toon shading beautifully brings the serene Japanese countryside to life, making it feel warm and inviting.

If you're skeptical about the game's visuals, I encourage you to watch the Morikomori Life trailers below and see the enchanting world for yourself!

Morikomori Life Lets You Experience Slow-Paced Living

Morikomori Life focuses on the joys of a simple, slice-of-life existence. You'll engage in activities like farming, cooking, fishing, hunting, and even building your own home. Explore the countryside to chop wood, mine for ore, and discover rare materials.

As you gather resources, you'll unlock new opportunities to upgrade your house and enhance your lifestyle. Customize Kaon's appearance to suit your taste, meet new friends in the village, and prepare meals from ingredients you've foraged. Additionally, you can assist villagers with various odd jobs.

The game allows for character customization to reflect your personality, and its open-world format offers the freedom to explore and encounter delightful surprises.

Currently, Morikomori Life is available on Android in Japan. If you're located in the region, you can download it from the Google Play Store. There has been no announcement yet regarding a global release.
