"New Predator Unveiled in 'Badlands' Trailer: Unlike Any Before"

The teaser trailer for the highly anticipated sci-fi action sequel, Predator: Badlands, has just been released, sparking excitement among fans. In this sneak peek, we are introduced to Elle Fanning's character, who appears to inhabit a perilous future on a remote planet. What sets this installment apart is the unique twist on the Predator character, suggesting that this time, the Predator might be the protagonist. The teaser boldly states, "The director of Prey welcomes you to a world of pain," setting high expectations for the film.

PlayIn addition to the fresh take on the Predator, the trailer includes intriguing references to the Alien universe, fueling speculation that *Predator: Badlands* could be setting the stage for a new *Aliens vs Predator* movie. A notable detail is Elle Fanning's eyes, which exhibit the Weyland Yutani reboot effect seen in *Alien: Romulus*, hinting that she might be a synthetic. Furthermore, the Weyland Yutani logo, synonymous with the nefarious megacorporation central to the Alien franchise, is visible on a damaged vehicle.

That's the Weyland Yutani logo on Elle Fanning's eyes. Is she a synth?

Predator: Badlands was announced in February 2024, with its release date confirmed in October of the same year. While the trailer debuted exclusively at CinemaCon earlier this month, this marks the first time fans have had the opportunity to see what the film has in store.

20th Century Studios provided an official synopsis during CinemaCon, stating: "In the future on a remote planet, a young Predator, outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary."

Elle Fanning shared some insights at CinemaCon, saying, "Something unprecedented happens in this movie. My character is not the one being chased. My character actually teams up with the Predator. And you get to see him in a completely new light. And... I'll stop there!"

Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, known for 10 Cloverfield Lane and the Predator prequel Prey, and co-written with Patrick Aison, Predator: Badlands is slated for a theatrical release on November 7, 2025.
