DC Studios has unveiled an exciting new trailer for the upcoming Superman film, directed by James Gunn, set to premiere on July 11, 2025. This three-minute trailer offers fans a deeper glimpse into the expansive universe of superheroes and villains that will populate the movie.
In the trailer, we see Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner / Green Lantern effortlessly battling enemies, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and a striking portrayal of The Engineer by María Gabriela de Faría. A significant moment reveals The Engineer destroying robots within Superman's Fortress of Solitude, including the beloved caretaker robot, Kelex, a scene that was hinted at in a previous trailer where Superman was seen mourning over Kelex's remains.
Adding to the action, Krypto the Superdog is shown heroically engaging The Engineer with a flying punch, showcasing his readiness to defend his master. The trailer also features Lex Luthor, portrayed by Nicholas Hoult, and Ultraman in action-packed sequences. Fans get more screen time with Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific and Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason / Metamorpho. The newly introduced character, The Hammer of Boravia, believed to be Ultraman in disguise, makes a dramatic appearance in the trailer, following a teaser from the day before.

The trailer also delves into the personal life of Clark Kent, with a focus on his relationship with Lois Lane. A key scene shows Lois, played by Rachel Brosnahan, interviewing Clark in his Superman persona, leading to a heated argument over Superman's controversial involvement in a foreign war. Clark defends his actions, stating, "I wasn’t representing anyone except for me... and doing good!" This intervention triggers an attack on Downtown Metropolis by The Hammer of Boravia.
Amidst the chaos, there's a touching moment where a civilian assists Superman out of a hole in the ground, highlighting the mixed public reactions towards him—from supportive to hostile, as seen in other shots where the public is shown screaming and throwing objects at him.
This trailer not only ramps up the excitement for the film but also sets the stage for a complex narrative filled with action, moral dilemmas, and emotional depth.
