"The Witcher Animated Film Premieres on Netflix in February"

Author : Liam May 15,2025

Get ready, fans of The Witcher! Netflix is set to enchant you with the release of the latest spinoff animated movie, "The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep," premiering on February 11, 2025. Dive into the magical world of The Witcher with this exciting new film, based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice" from the collection Sword of Destiny.

Set in a Seaside Village in the Continent

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Comes February

"The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep" transports viewers to a picturesque seaside village embroiled in a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. This compelling setting marks a departure from the typical monsters like Basilisks and Cockatrices that Geralt usually faces. Instead, the legendary Witcher is tasked with confronting the enigmatic merpeople, hired by a kingdom from the Continent to resolve their aquatic dilemma.

The voice of Geralt will once again be brought to life by the talented Doug Cockle, while Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer of Vengerberg, respectively. Adding to the stellar cast is Christina Wren from the "Will Trent" TV series, who voices the new character, Essi Daven.

Andrzej Sapkowski, the mastermind behind The Witcher novels, serves as a creative consultant for the film. The screenplay is penned by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin, both writers from the live-action series. Directing this cinematic journey is Kang Hei Chul, who previously worked as a storyboard artist on "The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf."

Takes Place During Season 1 of The Witcher’s Live-Adaptation Series

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Comes February

This animated feature slots seamlessly into the timeline of The Witcher's first season, occurring between episodes 5 and 6. Following the events of "Bottled Appetites," where Geralt and Yennefer reunite in the Redanian city of Rinde after freeing a Djinn, Geralt is commissioned by an unnamed kingdom to tackle a monstrous issue along its shores.

Given the geographic proximity of Rinde to the coastlines of Redania and Temeria, the film's setting is likely nestled between these nations. Fans familiar with "A Little Sacrifice" might recognize the potential setting as Bremervoord City in Temeria, ruled by Duke Agloval. As anticipation builds, viewers are eager to see if the movie will closely follow the short story's narrative or introduce new twists to the tale.
