Breaking News: Spotify Outage Reported

Author : Jonathan May 07,2025

Heads up: The popular music streaming service Spotify experienced a widespread outage this morning. According to IGN's sister site Downdetector, reports of the Spotify outage began pouring in around 6 a.m. PT and continued throughout the morning. Our team at IGN also faced difficulties accessing the service, and even when we managed to open the app, it refused to play music.

Spotify has officially acknowledged the issue and is actively working to resolve it as soon as possible. The company has also debunked rumors circulating about the outage being caused by a security hack, confirming these reports to be false.

We are aware of the outage and working to resolve it as soon as possible. The reports of this being a security hack are false.
