Application Description

Audio Visual Lessons for Evangelism and Basic Bible Teaching

These audio visual lessons are crafted to support evangelism and fundamental Bible teaching, utilizing resources from the Africa Inland Church (AIC) Sunday School Committee in Juba, Southern Sudan. These lessons have been adapted for broader use with the approval of the AIC and are brought to you by Global Recordings Network Australia.

Lesson Development and Purpose

The lessons were initially created in response to requests from young educators needing resources for Sunday School teaching. The accompanying visual aids, in the form of picture books, are vital components of these lessons and can be obtained from Global Recordings Network.

App Features and Content

  • Comprehensive Lessons: The app includes 226 Bible lessons spread across 9 books.
  • Based on Established Programs: These lessons draw from the Good News and Look, Listen, and Live audio visual programs by Global Recordings Network, accessible through the 5fish app.
  • User-Friendly Navigation: Features include title search, teacher instructions for each lesson, and the ability to play English audio recordings and display relevant pictures for each lesson story.
  • Offline Access: Most features are available offline, with the exception of audio playback.

Lesson Structure and Use

Each lesson is designed to last approximately twenty minutes, focusing solely on the teaching segment of the Sunday School session. Other activities such as singing, prayer, Bible reading, and quizzes are left for the teachers to organize. It is advised to conclude each lesson with a brief prayer and a song that reinforces the week's teachings. These lessons cater to children aged 7 to 12.

When initially tested, teachers transcribed the lessons weekly into exercise books. While some lessons have since been expanded, they remain concise to allow teachers flexibility in their preparation.

Teaching Approach

Each lesson features an aim statement to guide the teaching focus. Due to the age group, lessons are designed to introduce children to one or two key truths about God per session, gradually building their understanding over time. The lesson text serves as a guide for the teacher rather than a script to be read verbatim.

Recent Updates

Version 1.0.3 (Updated on Oct 24, 2024) includes enhancements in navigation, lesson layout, and options for printing and sharing.

This app offers a structured yet adaptable resource for teaching young learners about the Bible, leveraging the power of audio and visual aids to enhance their spiritual education.
