"Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to Support Cloud Saves"

Author : Savannah May 02,2025

Nintendo has officially confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will indeed support cloud saves, much to the relief of fans. Previously, concerns were raised when a disclaimer on Nintendo's website suggested that the game might not include this feature. The initial notice stated: "Please note: this software does not support the Nintendo Switch Online paid membership’s Save Data Cloud backup feature."

However, Nintendo has since updated its website, clarifying the situation. The revised disclaimer now reads: "Save data created in the second save data slot in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition cannot be transferred to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch." This indicates that players can transfer their save data from the original Switch to the Switch 2, but not vice versa. This update aligns with similar changes made to the page for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

This clarification should ease the minds of Switch 2 owners. Meanwhile, the page for Donkey Kong Bananza has removed all references to cloud saves, leaving its status unclear.

In other news, pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 have begun, maintaining a price point of $449.99. The response has been as enthusiastic as anticipated. For more details, you can refer to IGN's Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order guide.
