PUBG Creators Unveil Mobile Version of Palworld

Krafton and Pocket Pair are joining forces to bring the popular monster-catching game, Palworld, to mobile devices. Krafton, known for PUBG, will leverage its expertise to adapt Palworld's gameplay for mobile platforms through its subsidiary, PUBG Studios. This licensing agreement signifies a significant expansion of the Palworld intellectual property.

While excitement is high, details regarding the mobile version remain scarce. The original Palworld launched on Xbox and Steam earlier this year, quickly gaining popularity, and recently arrived on PlayStation 5 (excluding Japan). This exclusion may be related to an ongoing legal battle between Nintendo and Pocket Pair, stemming from alleged patent infringement concerning the mechanics of capturing creatures. Nintendo claims patent infringement regarding the method of capturing creatures, a similarity some have dubbed "Pokémon with guns," while Pocket Pair denies any knowledge of the specific patents involved.

Krafton's involvement is crucial, given Pocket Pair's current focus on developing the existing game. However, it's important to temper expectations, as the mobile project is likely in its early stages.

Further details on whether the mobile version will be a direct port or a modified adaptation are eagerly awaited. For now, players can explore the official Steam page for a comprehensive understanding of Palworld's core gameplay and features. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting mobile venture!
