Lost Soul Aside Pushed Back to August 2025
The long-awaited action game Lost Soul Aside has been delayed from its May 30 release date to August 29, 2025, developer Ultizero Games announced today.
Originally slated for launch next month after nearly a decade in development, the PlayStation 5 and PC title now requires additional polishing time according to studio founder Yang Bing.
Developer Commits to Quality Finish
"We deeply appreciate the overwhelming support from players worldwide," Ultizero Games stated. "To meet our exacting quality standards, we've decided to devote extra time perfecting the experience."
The Shanghai-based studio emphasized its commitment to delivering a polished action RPG worthy of its inspiring development journey.
From Solo Project to AAA Ambition
What began as independent developer Yang Bing's personal project evolved into a flagship PlayStation exclusive under Sony's China Hero Project initiative.
IGN recently interviewed Bing about Lost Soul Aside's extraordinary development arc - from viral 2016 prototype to featured State of Play presentation.
Game Features Hybrid Combat System
Players control Kesar, a warrior equipped with transforming weaponry that alters combat styles mid-battle, aided by a dragon companion named Arena.
The combat blends technical aerial maneuvers from Devil May Cry with Final Fantasy-inspired aesthetics across a dimension-hopping sci-fi narrative Bing describes as "a journey of redemption."
Large-scale boss battles complement the game's emphasis on precision timing, counters, and fluid combo systems.
The delay positions this passion project's release during a competitive late-summer window, allowing additional refinement for its ambitious hybrid combat system.
