Krafton, the South Korean gaming giant, proudly announced that their latest title, inZOI, has achieved a remarkable milestone by selling 1 million copies within its first week. This impressive feat marks the fastest sales record for any game published by Krafton to date. Launched on PC through Steam in Early Access on March 28, inZOI quickly captured the gaming community's attention, not least due to a controversial bug that allowed players to harm children in-game, which Krafton swiftly addressed and patched as an "unintended bug."
Despite this initial hiccup, inZOI has garnered a 'very positive' user review rating on Steam and reached a peak of 175,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, securing the third spot in the Games category. The game soared to the top of Steam’s Global Top Sellers List by sales revenue, achieving this feat just 40 minutes post-launch. The in-game user-generated content (UGC) platform, Canvas, also saw immense engagement with over 1.2 million participants and more than 470,000 pieces of content uploaded on its debut day.
IGN's Early Access review of inZOI scored it a 6/10, noting, "inZOI is a visually striking life simulator with plenty of ambition, but not enough depth as of its Early Access launch." Krafton credits its pre-launch promotional efforts and active community engagement for building trust and momentum leading up to the release. The inZOI global showcase and demo build were particularly effective in generating high interest, according to Krafton.
CEO CH Kim expressed gratitude and excitement about presenting inZOI to a global audience via Early Access, emphasizing ongoing communication with players and the long-term vision to develop inZOI into a flagship franchise IP for Krafton.

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to roll out future updates with new content, including mod support and new cities. All updates and DLCs will be available for free until the game's full release. Amid some player complaints about the game's state, Krafton committed to applying quick fixes through hotfixes throughout April. The company acknowledged the scale of inZOI’s global community as a "next-level experience," admitting they are navigating through some "trial and error" to optimize communication with players.
